Alicia de Soto teaches gardening at 5 schools in the West Hollywood area and the Eastside Boys & Girls Club in East LA, and gives seasonal garden talks at three Jewish Family Services senior housing developments. Alicia was a founding member of the Healthy School Food Coalition, a group of concerned LAUSD parents, students and community members who successfully lobbied the Los Angeles Unified School Board to remove sodas from LAUSD schools.
Alicia -- whose kitchen counters are currently overcrowded with homegrown tomatoes -- is the mother of a middle school student, a newly minted grandmother and a jewelry designer. You can see her designs at www.yxtabay.com.

Do you know what to do with your unwanted computers, TVs, cell phones, batteries or other electronics? We've got the information. Receive information, too, about worm and compost workshops and bins.
