Celebrate the Season with the Troubies as they bring together two classic tales, A Christmas Story and West Side Story. Somewhere in America, Ralphie wants to be Cool and get a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. Will his parents ever believe A Boy Like That can handle a Red Ryder? Or will Santa use One Hand, One Heart to ignore Ralphie and give a BB gun to Maria instead? Tell yourself "I Feel Pretty", hop on a Jet and dance your way to the show Tonight!

"The troupe's holiday gift to audiences is an uproarious and musically sublime blend of Broadway bombast, Hollywood nostalgia, and "Saturday Night Live" snark…Only in the cockeyed Troubie universe could a stirring tale of racial prejudice and star-crossed lovers morph into the saga of nerdy grade-school youth Ralphie (Walker) and his obsession with a BB gun…The spoof sensibility occasionally fades to the background as the performers struttheir stuff in showstopping production numbers. Still, there's no shortage of insane gags, spot-on topical putdowns, and sidesplitting ad libs and razzing of the audience…This fun-filled frolic seems destined to become a yuletide classic in its own right." – Critic’s Pick, Backstage

"A Christmas Westside Story is one of the cleverest efforts in their 10-year history. Helmer Matt Walker (who also essays Ralphie, excellently) cranks out a new Yuletide attraction annually, but this one has enough piney scent to establish itself as an evergreen perennial. Because the narrative is so tight, the company can afford to put story occasionally on hold to taunt latecomers, provide lap dances to customers and generally mock its own Hellzapoppin aesthetic.

“Giddy holiday fun even Officer Krupke could love…This inventive romp finds ingenious use for the musical’s best numbers…The Troubies can skate the thin ice between the sublime and just sloppy, but here, the energized, Fosse-style dance numbers (tightly choreographed by Molly Alvarez) buy time for the cast to goof off.”

"The kind of juxtaposition that is the Troubie trademark, and it reaps richly comic benefits…they create a sense that the Troubies are performing for us, in 2011 Burbank, not for audiences who might enjoy this material in some future time or some other place."
– Don Shirley LA Stage Times

"A Christmas Westside Story is not only Troubadour Theater Company at its brilliant best, it may well be the Troubies’ best yet blend of story, song, dance and humor.” – StageSceneLA

"It’s a pretty gutsy effort. But pratfalls, somersaults and all manner of acrobatic physicality are part of the company’s signature style, and the actors prove up for choreographer Molly Alvarez’s crisp, Robbins-inspired, high-jumping, shoulder-hunching, finger-snapping, skirtflapping dance numbers…The show, despite being a parody, would be far less successful without the cast’s serious commitment to this song-and-dance framework, and without the muscular, expert on-stage band." – Burbank Leader

"Following their long, goofy tradition of musical mash-ups…The rambunctious Troubie style allows for hilarious asides, gags, ad libs, inside jokes, wild choreography by Molly Alvarez and comic jabs at Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann and John Boehner."

"The Troubadours have done it again with the wonderful A Christmas Westside Story…The cast is at their best, showcasing that they're not only hysterical actors, but prime dancers and singers as well…You may not get what you want for Christmas, but whether you've been naughty or nice, you are guaranteed two-hours of non-stop laughter from this show!" – Theatermania
